Is there an overview of the submitted proposals?
Once subcontractors have submitted their proposals, you naturally want to be able to review them in a clear and organized manner. In 12Build, there are three ways to view and download submitted proposals and the accompanying documents.
What will you find in this article?
-
Overview via Submitted Documents: How to download all proposals in one central location.
-
Overview via Communication: How to view incoming messages by workpackage.
-
Generating reports: How to create a complete export of all received emails and attachments.
Summary
You can view submitted proposals via the Documents tab, by workpackage in Communication, or via a summary report. Depending on your choice, you can either view the messages or download all attachments at once as a ZIP file.
Requirements and target audience
This article is intended for general contractors who want to compare or archive proposals received from subcontractors. You need access to the relevant project to view this data.
Overview via Submitted Documents
This is the most direct way to collect all quote documents:
-
Within the project, go to the Documents tab.
-
Select the Submitted Documents folder.
-
Here you will see a list of all received files. Select the proposals you need.
-
Click Download to save the files to your computer.

Overview via Communication
Would you rather see the context of the message associated with the proposal? Then use the communication overview:
-
Go to the Communication tab.
-
Select the Messages option.
-
Click on the various workpackages to expand them. You will now see the inbox and outbox for each specialty.

-
In the inbox, you will find the submitted proposals.
-
Click on a message to download it.
Note: Using this method, you will only download the text of the message and not the attachments directly.
Generating Reports
To create a complete archive of all responses, you can generate a summary report:
-
Go to the overview of all subcontractors in the communication section.
-
Select all subcontractors who have submitted a proposal. [Image: Selecting multiple subcontractors from the list]
-
Click the Reports button at the top.
-

-
Messages including attachments
-

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Question: Can I also download all proposals for the entire project at once? Answer: Yes, the third method (Reports) is best suited for this. This allows you to retrieve all attachments from all selected parties at once.
Question: Why do I see a proposal in the communication but not in the submitted documents? Answer: Documents automatically appear in the 'Submitted documents' folder when a subcontractor uses the official 'Submit proposal' button. In the case of a separate message in the communication, they are sometimes only attached to that specific message.
Troubleshooting
-
Symptom: I cannot locate the “Submitted Documents” folder.
-
Cause: No proposals may have been officially submitted via the platform for this project yet.
-
Solution: Check the Communication section to see if any messages with attachments have been received. If so, download them manually from the message.
