The Project Dashboard and the Projects Overview

The Project dashboard and the Projects overview are the central hubs within 12Build for managing requests for proposals. Here, you can respond directly to requests, download documents, and communicate with the General contractor. By updating the status, the General contractor is always kept informed of your progress.

Prerequisites and Target Audience

This article is intended for subcontractors and suppliers who have been invited to a project by a General contractor in 12Build. You need an active account and a received project invitation to use these features.

The Project Dashboard

The Project dashboard centralizes all relevant information about a specific project.

  1. Go to the project you want to work on.

  2. View the project information on the dashboard.

  3. Respond to the Request for Proposal by clicking the buttons “Calculate,” “Pending,” or “Do Not Calculate.” [Image: Overview of the status buttons on the dashboard]

  4. Optionally, add a message to your response to explain, for example, the timeline for your proposal.

  5. Click Submit Proposal or Send Message to take immediate action with the general contractor.

Projects Overview

The Projects overview provides a complete overview of all projects to which you have been invited.

  1. In the main menu, click on Projects and select Projects Overview.

  2. Use the filters to search by keywords, status, or General contractor.

  3. Use the menu on the right side of a project to access shortcuts:

    • Click Show Documents.

    • Click Send Message.

    • Click Submit Proposal

Documents

In this section, you can manage the files that the General contractor has made available.

  1. In the project menu, go to Documenten.

  2. Click on a folder name on the left to open the documents on the right. 

  3. Select the specific documents you need.

  4. Click the Download button to save the selection as a ZIP file.

  5. Click the Download All button (top right) to immediately receive all project documents in a single ZIP file. 

Budget Rules

When a general contractor works with budget rules, you can enter detailed pricing information here.

  1. Navigate to the Budget Rules menu.

  2. Enter the total price or the price per product for each line item.

  3. In the last column, indicate whether you wish to include the relevant line in your proposal.

  4. To propose an alternative, click the Insert Row button to add your own rules. 

  5. Note: You can also fill in these lines during the first step of the Submit Proposal process.

Communication

In the Communication menu, you manage all correspondence and contact details for the project.

  1. Go to the Communication menu.

  2. Click on Received to view incoming messages.

  3. Click on Sent for an overview of your own messages.

  4. Click the Compose button to send a new message to the General contractor.

  5. To change the contact person for this project, update the primary contact. All future communication will go to the new person from that point on.

Submit a proposal via the Project menu

You can start the quote process at any time from the navigation menu.

  1. Navigate to the menu within the project.

  2. Click the Submit Proposal button to start submitting your proposal right away.


Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question: Why is it important to click the status buttons (such as 'Calculate')? Answer: When you click these buttons, the general contractor receives an immediate notification. The status in their overview is updated, letting them know whether they can count on your proposal.

Question: Can I include a message when I indicate that I won’t be submitting a quote? Answer: Yes, when submitting a response, you can always add a message to explain your decision or schedule.

Troubleshooting

  • Symptom: I don’t see any documents in the folder.

    • Cause: The folder is not selected, or the general contractor has not yet uploaded any files.

    • Solution: Click the folder name on the left to load the contents on the right.

  • Symptom: The wrong colleague is receiving notifications about a project.

    • Cause: The wrong person is set as the primary contact.

    • Solution: Go to Communication and change the primary contact for the relevant project.
