Summary
You can change your username and email address via 'My Account'. For security reasons, you must confirm each change through an authentication step, choosing between your password or an email confirmation.
Terms and Target Audience
This article is intended for all active users of 12Build. Important: The email address and username can only be changed by the user themselves while logged in.
Changing your username
Your username is strictly personal and can be changed in the security settings.

Click on My Account in the top right corner.

Navigate to the Security tab.

Enter the new username.

Click Save.
Change email address
You can change your email address directly in the main menu of your account settings.

Go to My Account.

Change the email address in the designated input field.

Press Enter on your keyboard or click outside the input field to save the change.

Authentication
After changing your information, a pop-up window will appear for verification. You must authenticate yourself to finalize the change.

In the pop-up, select the desired authentication method:

Password: Enter your current password to confirm immediately.

Email: You will receive an email at your (new) address with a confirmation link.

Follow the instructions in the pop-up or click the link in the email to complete the process.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Question: Can my colleague or an administrator change my email address for me? Answer: No, for security reasons, only the logged-in user can change this information.
Question: I selected email authentication but haven’t received anything—what should I do? Answer: Check your junk mail (spam) folder. If the email isn’t there either, verify that you entered the new email address correctly without any typos.
Troubleshooting
