Video: 12Build Evaluator for Evaluators

As an evaluator, you play a crucial role in monitoring quality within your projects. By systematically evaluating your partners and suppliers, you generate valuable data that helps you select the best subcontractors for future projects.

What will you find in this article?

  • Roles and access: How to get started after a colleague has created your account.

  • Question types in the Evaluator: The difference between public scores and internal (closed) questions.

  • Filling out evaluations: How to go through the questionnaire and provide additional comments.

  • Manual evaluation: How to start an evaluation for a partner yourself.

Summary

In the role of Evaluator, you assess suppliers using questionnaires prepared by your organization. You use both numerical scores (public) and internal questions (for internal use only). In addition to the standard evaluation lists, you can also manually start an individual evaluation to provide immediate feedback on a performance.

Requirements and Target Audience

This guide is specifically for users with the Evaluator role. You can only log in and submit evaluations after an administrator or initiator within your company has added you to the system.

Question types in the Evaluator

While filling out an evaluation, you will encounter different types of questions, each serving a specific purpose in gaining insight into your supply chain partners.

  • Public scores: These scores (often on a scale of 1–10) contribute to the subcontractor’s public profile on 12Build. They show the market how well a company is performing.

  • Closed questions: These questions and answers are visible only to your own organization. They are intended for internal record-keeping and in-depth quality analyses.

  • Explanations: For many questions, you can add textual feedback. This is essential to substantiate a score, especially if it is unsatisfactory.

How do I start an evaluation?

There are two ways to go through an evaluation process:

1. From a pre-populated list

Usually, an initiator has already set up projects and suppliers for you.

  1. Log in to the 12Build Evaluator.

  2. Go to My Evaluations.

  3. Click on the relevant supplier to open the questionnaire.

2. Start an evaluation manually

Do you consider that a supplier deserves a review outside of the regular lists?

  1. Click the Start Evaluation button.

  2. Search for the desired subcontractor or supplier in the database.

  3. Select the appropriate questionnaire and add relevant labels (such as project name).

  4. Fill out the evaluation and complete it.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What should I do if I do not understand a question on the list? Contact the list’s Initiator. They compiled or selected the questionnaire and can provide you with the proper context for that specific question.

Can the supplier see what I’ve entered right away? If the score is satisfactory, this depends on the settings. If the score is unsatisfactory (5 or lower), the evaluation first enters a waiting or quarantine period so that it can be discussed internally or with the partner first.

Troubleshooting

  • Symptom: I cannot log in, even though my colleague indicates that I have been added.

    • Cause: You may not have activated your account via the welcome email yet, or you are using the wrong email address.

    • Solution: Check your inbox (and spam folder) for an activation email from 12Build, or ask your administrator exactly which email address they used.

  • Symptom: A question does not apply to this specific supplier.

    • Cause: The questionnaire is general in nature.

    • Solution: If the administrator has allowed it, you can use the "Not applicable" button for that question to skip it without affecting the score.
