How do I forward a publication to my partners?

You can easily forward publications within 12Build that you do not wish to comment on yourself but that may be of interest to your partners. This article explains how to do so and what happens after you forward them.

Summary

You can forward a publication to partners via the three-dot menu in the overview or via the forward button in the publication itself. Your partner will receive a notification, while the General contractor will not be notified of this action.

This article is intended for users who collaborate with external partners and wish to share relevant market opportunities. You must have access to the Publications module to view and forward projects.

From the publication overview

You can quickly forward a project without opening the details:

  1. Locate the relevant publication in the overview.

  2. Click the menu (three dots) next to the publication.

  3. Select the Forward to Partner option.

Directly from the publication

If you have already opened a publication to view the details, follow these steps:

  1. Click the "Forward to partner" button or use the forward icon in the top-right corner of the screen. 

Selecting partners and sending

After you click Forward, a pop-up window will appear:

  1. In the pop-up, select one or more partners to whom you want to send the information.

    Note: If you have previously sent the same publication to a specific partner, you cannot select that partner again.

  2. Click the button to proceed to the next step.

  3. If desired, add a personal message for the recipient(s). 

  4. Click "Forward" to send the publication.

What happens after I forward the publication?

Once the publication has been sent, the following actions take effect:

  • Partner notification: Your partner receives a notification via email and/or within the 12Build app.

  • Partner filtering: In their own Publication overview, partners can filter by Received publications.

  • Your overview: In your own overview, you can filter by publications you have forwarded.

  • General contractor: The general contractor will not receive a notification that you have shared the publication with a partner.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question: Can I send a publication to the same partner multiple times? Answer: No, if a publication has already been sent to a partner, that partner is grayed out and cannot be selected again in the list.

Question: Does the general contractor see that I’ve shared their project? Answer: No, forwarding publications is an action between you and your partners. The general contractor does not receive a notification about this.

Troubleshooting

  • Symptom: My partner cannot find the forwarded publication.

    • Cause: The partner is looking in the general overview or their notification settings are turned off.

    • Solution: Advise the partner to filter specifically for the "Received publications" status in the Publication overview.
