What will you find in this article?

  • Navigating to the search page: How to use the search function.

  • Search bar and filters: Using keywords and preset filters.

  • Finding and adding companies: Searching by name or adding missing companies.

  • Refining and sorting results: How to select the best match based on distance, score, or relationship.

Summary

You can search for subcontractors via the main menu or directly from a workpackage in your communication overview. By combining filters with keywords, you can search the entire 12Build database. You can add found subcontractors to the desired workpackage with a single click.

Prerequisites and target audience

This article is intended for estimators and buyers who want to assemble their project team. You need an active project and, preferably, workpackages that have already been created to effectively add specialists.

Open the search page

There are two ways to access the search page:

  1. Main menu: Click directly on the search icon in the navigation bar.

  2. Via Communication: Go to Projects > Communication, select a workpackage, and click the Search button.

Using the search bar and filters

The search bar helps you quickly find relevant companies based on project characteristics and keywords.

Preset filters

The search bar includes filters based on your project settings.

  • Click the + icon to view these filters.

  • Click the Reset button (2) to return to the default project settings.

  • Click the X button (1) to clear all filters at once.

Search by keyword or name

  • Keywords: Type a specialty or location. Click on a filter suggestion to apply it directly to the results.

  • Search by name: Type the company name (do not press Enter). Click the correct company in the suggestion list. The company will appear at the top of the results, even if it does not meet the other filters.

Add a missing company

If a company is not present in the database, use the Add Subcontractor button to manually add a new company to 12Build.

Review and refine results

The search results immediately display all the crucial information you need to make a good choice.

  1. Company information: View the relationship status (preferred, known, market), distance from the project location, credit score, and willingness to negotiate.

  2. Refine search: Use the sidebar to filter by specific characteristics. The number next to the option shows how many companies meet that criterion.

  3. Sort: Sort the list by Relevance, Distance, or Credit Score using the dropdown menu above the results.

Add subcontractors to your project

Have you found the right specialist?

  1. Click the "Add to" button next to the relevant company.

  2. Select the workpackage you want to link the specialist to.

  3. Once a company has been added, you will see the message “Added to:” followed by the name of the Workpackage. You can also remove them here if needed.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question: Why do I see different companies in the suggestions than in the results? Answer: Filter suggestions are based on the entire 12Build database. The search results themselves only show companies that meet all the filters currently in your search bar.

Question: Can I add a company to multiple workpackages at once? Answer: Yes, you can use the 'Add to' button to link the company to different workpackages one after another.
