Summary

Labels are used to personalise questionnaires for evaluators and to categorise data in reports. By assigning labels to both questions and users, an evaluator sees only the questions that apply to their role or expertise.

Requirements and Target Audience

This feature is available exclusively to administrators. Before you can add labels, a label category must first be created. Labels can be managed via the Administration menu under the Labels option.

Adding or editing labels

Within an existing category, you can create or edit individual labels.

  1. Navigate to the Admin menu and select Labels.

  2. Click the pencil icon next to the name of the relevant category.

  3. Type the label name in the New Label field. To add multiple labels at once, type the names one below the other in this field.

  4. Click the Add button. The labels will now appear at the bottom of the list.

  5. (Optional) Use the slider next to a label to indicate that the label has a specific value (such as a number).

  6. (Optional) Assign a color to the label by clicking the color button, or delete a label using the trash can icon.

Filter questions using labels

By enabling filtering, you ensure that an evaluator’s questionnaire is streamlined.

  1. Link a category to both a question and a user.

  2. When saving the category, select the option "Use for filtering questions."

  3. Assign specific labels to questions. A question labeled 'Purchaser' will now only appear for users who also have the 'Purchaser' label. General questions without a label remain visible to everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question: What is a composite name for a label? Answer: You use this when a label name consists of a combination of fields, such as a project name combined with a job number and a calculation number.

Question: Can I assign a label to multiple roles? Answer: Yes, you can link multiple labels per user or per question to achieve the desired filtering.

Troubleshooting

  • Symptom: An evaluator sees questions that are not intended for them.

    • Cause: The "Use for question filtering" option is not enabled for the category, or the question has not been assigned a label.

    • Solution: Check the category settings in the admin panel and verify that the specific questions have been assigned the correct label.
