How can I add reference projects, certificates, quality labels, and industry associations?

In this article, you will learn how to list your quality credentials and experience in your company profile. By correctly entering your certifications, quality marks, and memberships, you will be easier to find for general contractors who specifically filter for these criteria when searching for subcontractors.

What will you find in this article?

  • Reference Projects: How to share your experience with potential clients.

  • Managing Certificates: Selecting and uploading supporting documents such as VCA.

  • Quality labels and industry associations: Registering quality labels and memberships.

  • Profile Completeness: How to keep your score high, even without specific certificates.

Summary

You manage your quality credentials via the Company Profile menu under the References tab. By actively checking off certificates, labels, and associations here and uploading the corresponding supporting documents, you’ll appear higher in search results when general contractors filter by these criteria.

Requirements and Target Audience

This article is intended for subcontractors who want to demonstrate their market value and reliability on 12Build. Make sure you have digital copies (PDF or image) of your certificates and proof of membership on hand.

Navigating to References

All quality attributes are managed in one central location.

  1. Log in to your 12Build account.

  2. In the left-hand menu, click on Company Profile.

  3. Select the References option.

  4. Here you will immediately see a percentage indicating how complete each section is.

Projects

Under the Projects tab, you can add various reference projects to demonstrate your experience.

  • Fill in the details such as the project name and location.

  • Add images to provide a visual impression.

Certificates

Under the Certificates tab, you can list the official certifications your company holds.

  1. Search for and click on the relevant certificate in the list.

  2. Use the box on the right to upload the physical certificate. This makes the document downloadable for contractors.

  3. Important: The system does not automatically check lower levels. For example, with a VCA** certificate, you must also manually check VCA*.

Quality Labels and Industry Associations

This process works the same for quality labels and memberships.

  1. Go to the Quality Labels or Industry Associations tab.

  2. Select the labels or associations you are affiliated with.

  3. Upload the supporting document or proof of membership on the right-hand side.

Maintain Profile Completeness

Do you not possess any certificates, labels, or memberships?

  • In the relevant tabs, select the option [Your company name] has no [certificates/labels/associations].

  • This lets the system know that the information has not been forgotten, and it will not affect your profile score.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question: What should I do if my certificate or association isn’t listed? Answer: You can submit a request to have it added by emailing databasebeheer@12build.com.

Question: Why do I actually have to upload the documents? Answer: Contractors use these documents for their record-keeping. If a document is directly downloadable from your profile, they don’t have to request it separately, which speeds up the collaboration.

Troubleshooting

  • Symptom: My profile percentage isn’t increasing after I fill it out.

    • Cause: You may not have checked the "no certificates/labels" option for sections that do not apply to your company.

    • Solution: Go through all the tabs under 'References' and make sure that either something is filled in or it is indicated that you do not have it.

  • Symptom: Uploading a supporting document fails.

    • Cause: The file is likely too large or has an incorrect file format.

    • Solution: Check that you are using a PDF or JPG file and reduce the file size if necessary.
