12Build offers standard classifications based on the country in which your company operates. These codes are periodically updated by our data department and form the basis for creating workpackages and searching the subcontractors database.

Terms and Target Audience

This article is intended for (sub)administrators and users who create projects. The available classification systems depend on your region:

  • Netherlands: STABU, RAW, and NL/SfB.

  • Belgium: VMSW, NACE, and Standaardbestek.

Managing classification systems

As an administrator, you determine which classification systems are available by default for your organization.

  1. Click on Settings.

  2. Go to the New Project tab.

  3. Locate the Classification Coding dropdown.

  4. Check the desired systematieken to add them or uncheck them to remove them. 

Applying Schemes in Projects

Once the classification systems are set up, you can use them when setting up your project.

  1. Go to the Project Details for a specific project.

  2. Select the desired classification system(s).

    • Tip: You can select multiple systems within a single project to easily switch between different coding schemes.

  3. Navigate to your Communication Overview.

  4. Create new workpackages based on the selected system. You can now search the database directly from these workpackages.

Question: Are the classification systems updated automatically? Answer: Yes, our data department performs periodic updates so that you always work with the most current versions of the classifications.

Question: Can I use different classification systems within a single Request for Proposal? Answer: Yes, by selecting multiple classification systems in the project details, you can switch flexibly when creating your workpackages.

Troubleshooting

  • Symptom: I cannot select a specific coding system (such as RAW) in my project.

    • Cause: The coding system has likely not yet been activated in the general company settings.

    • Solution: Ask an (assistant) administrator to check the relevant coding in the "Coding System" dropdown under Settings > New Project.
