This article is intended for subcontractors and suppliers who want to fully set up their company profile in 12Build. To add certificates, you must have an active 12Build account and the corresponding supporting documents for your certifications.

The importance of certificates

It is essential to actually add the certificates you have obtained to your company profile. This helps you stand out to general contractors who are specifically looking for certified partners.

Partnerships and integrations

12Build collaborates with various organizations to ensure the validity of certificates and to simplify the process for general contractors.

  • PEFC, FSC, and KOMO: There is a direct link to these registries. General contractors can click directly from 12Build to the official registries to check the status.

  • TÜV Nederland: For VCA, ISO9001, and the Safety Ladder, 12Build receives a quarterly update with validated certificates. These are automatically processed into the database. Please note: with TÜV, it is not possible to click through directly to an external registry.

Overview of Dutch Certificates

The following Dutch (NL) certificates are available for selection in 12Build:

  • Safety & Health: VCA (incl. *, **, Petrochemicals, and TÜV variants), Safety Ladder (Levels 1–5), Safety Culture Ladder, OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001, Basic Safety (VCA-1), VOL-VCA.

  • Sustainability & Environment: BREEAM (Site, In-Use), CO2 Performance Ladder (Levels 1–5), FSC, PEFC, CSR Performance Ladder (Levels 1–5), Cradle to Cradle (Basic–Platinum), AluEco, STIP.

  • Quality & Management: ISO 9001 (incl. TÜV), ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISO 3834, ISO 26001 (Transparency Levels 1–3), SNA, PSO Performance Ladder.

  • Construction & Engineering (BRL/NEN): An extensive list of BRL standards (including SIKB, 6000, 9500), KOMO, CE NEN-EN 1090, CCV schemes for fire protection and sprinkler systems, SCIOS (Scope 1 through 12), CKB.

  • Specific Sectors: ProRail-approved contractors, ERM (Restoration), GND Guaranteed Doors, HOUT100%, Qualicoat, Qualanod.

Question: What should I do if my certificate isn’t listed? Answer: You can send suggestions for additions to databasebeheer@12build.com.

Question: Are my TÜV certificates updated automatically? Answer: Yes, 12Build receives a quarterly update from TÜV Nederland for VCA, ISO9001, and the Safety Ladder and processes these into the database.

Troubleshooting

  • Symptom: A certificate has expired in 12Build even though you have a new one.

    Cause: The automatic quarterly update (e.g., from TÜV) has not yet taken place, or the document has not been uploaded manually.

    Solution: Upload the new certificate manually to your profile or wait for the periodic synchronization.

  • Symptom: The main contractor cannot click through to the certificate register.

    Cause: No direct registry link is available for this specific certificate (such as TÜV).

    Solution: Ensure that you have uploaded a PDF copy of the certificate to your profile as a downloadable file.
