How do I add reference projects?

Requirements and target audience

This article is intended for subcontractors who want to showcase their portfolio on 12Build. Make sure you have the project details (such as activities performed) on hand and that your photos meet the maximum file size of 2MB each.

Adding reference projects

Follow these steps to add a new project to your list:

  1. In the References menu, click the Add New Reference Project button.

  2. First, give the project a clear name.

  3. Further define the project in the available fields:

    • Location: Where was the project carried out?

    • Activities: What specific work did you perform within this project?

    • Link: If available, add the URL of the project’s website.

  4. Add photos to visually support the project.

    • Please note the limitations: Maximum of 4 files.

    • Maximum 2MB per image.

    • Supported formats: JPG, PNG, or JPEG. 

Save and finish

You do not need to save the project manually; 12Build does this automatically as you work. When you are done, you can return directly to the References overview, where you will see that your new reference project is now listed.

Question: Why can’t I upload more than 4 photos? Answer: 12Build enforces a limit of 4 photos per reference project to keep the profile organized for general contractors and to optimize your profile’s loading time.

Question: Can I edit a project later? Answer: Yes, you can return to the Projects tab at any time and click on an existing project to change the details or photos.

Troubleshooting

  • Symptom: My photo isn’t uploading.

    • Cause: The file is likely larger than 2MB or has an unsupported file format (such as PDF).

    • Solution: Check the file size and make sure the image is saved as JPG, PNG, or JPEG.

  • Symptom: I do not see my project in the overview.

    • Cause: You may not have named the project, so it wasn’t saved correctly.

    • Solution: Check that the project name has been entered; this is the first field required for automatic saving.
