Herculan produces, supplies and installs seamless floors for various application areas. Think of indoor sports floors, outdoor sports floors, cast floors for non-residential construction and even floors for shipping. They can do anything.
Growth of Herculan
28 years ago the company started small, in Veenendaal, Utrecht. Herculan grew quickly and moved 50 kilometers away, to Meerkerk. Not only the Dutch headquarters is now located there, but also the factory. Each year Herculan carries out about 300 to 400 projects in the Netherlands and Belgium alone, but they can also be found in the rest of Europe through partners.
Office sales worker Jacqueline Puijk is proud of what the company manages to achieve every year. The company is still growing. “We were already doing very well, we want to keep going. You want to get more quotation requests, be able to accept more projects”, says Jacqueline. “And you want to grow with all digital developments. So then 12Build is the solution for expanding your market.”
At the top of the list: being found by general contractors
“In 2019 we decided to switch to a 12Build Premium Profile,” says Jacqueline. “We wanted to be at the top of the search results, and not only be found by our regular partners. New general contractors also found us with a Premium Profile. This allowed us to secure new orders.” And that works.
Herculan notices that the number of quotation requests are rising rapidly this year. "We have been high in the search results for general contractors for a year now and you can see that difference!" Almost half of all requests are made to Herculan via 12Build. Jacqueline: “General contractors who didn't know us yet can now find us in the blink of an eye.”
For Herculan that’s the most important advantage of working with 12Build. The company has one major competitor in the Netherlands. “We are not the first one you think of when you want sports floors. But with 12Build we see that we are becoming better known to many general contractors.” Over the past 12 months, the flooring specialist has been stable in the top 10 of most requested subcontractors in their specialization.
Saving time
If you looked at Herculan two years ago, you would see piles of paper in the archive room. The company hardly worked digitally. Everything was printed, put in suspension files, documented in binders and kept in large filing cabinets full of labeled boxes.
Jacqueline laughs and paints a picture of what the search for one drawing or one quotation looked like. Walk past stacks of boxes. Check all labels. Looking for the correct year. Found it. But which box is it? And which folder then? Paper everywhere.
“If we now have to dive into the archive of, for example, 2014 and we are looking for a project that has not been requested via 12Build, it will take a long time,” says Jacqueline. She was regularly looking for that one piece of paper for more than half an hour. “It is a shame that we did not have it digital at the time. Not in 12Build and not in our own CRM system. If I now want to look up something digitally, I will find it within one minute, sometimes two.” At 12Build, all information is safely stored in the cloud. No problem for Herculan. The step to the 12Build cloud went very naturally. “We didn't think that was a scary idea at all.”

12Build provides insight into the statistics of your specialization on our statistics page, but with a Premium Profile you also get a lot of insight into the statistics of your company. That is part of 12Build that Herculan did not expect to like in advance.
Jacqueline: “You can see how many applications you received last year and how many there are this year. This gives you direct insight into how your company is doing. We also have insight in which specialization of Herculan is the most popular. These are generally the sports floors, namely about 70% of our income. We always want to score as high as possible. With the statistics we can easily see which parts deserve more attention from us.”
Collaborate with 12Build
Major advantages for Herculan are the time savings, the overview with the statistics, but above all the fact that general contractors can find the company more easily.
“With 12Build we can be found in the Netherlands and Belgium and we receive requests from all over Europe. We will soon have to determine whether we will extend the collaboration with 12Build. I think we can be very brief about that. We will. ”
