Will my calculation become public knowledge?
Many free or low barrier AI tools operate on a data for services model. You get to use the tool, but in exchange, they use your input to improve their algorithms. In the construction industry, we believe this is unacceptable. You do not want your unique pricing strategy, your exclusions, or your clever alternatives indirectly ending up in the training set of a model that is later consulted by your competitor.
The ‘privacy by design’ architecture
We have not simply hooked up our AI engine, such as AI Quote Analysis or AI Project Fit, to the open internet. It is protected by a strict security shell that operates according to three principles.
1. Temporary processing, no third party storage: When our AI analyses a PDF from a subcontractor, we use the processing power of OpenAI. However, we do this via a shielded corporate API connection. This comes with a strict agreement that data is used exclusively for that specific action. No permanent storage occurs at the AI provider and your data is never used to train their public models.
2. Lightning fast indexing in your own environment (Qdrant): For deep analysis and document searching, we use Qdrant. This is a vector database that indexes information within your own secure environment. Think of it as a digital library to which only you have the key. It allows you to search through thousands of pages of quotes for one specific exclusion in seconds, without that information ever leaving your domain.
3. Full compliance with the EU AI Act: As a European platform, we are leading the way in adopting the EU AI Act. This means our systems are auditable and transparent. We minimize algorithmic bias and protect data privacy at the highest level, exactly what you should expect from a strategic partner.
